Description

The Valley of Azaleas is a popular picnic place near Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. It is most beautiful around May, when the Rhododendron species blossom. We were not sure how the sky would look like from here because the trees block the view quite a bit, but the view was amazing from here. The timing was not great for the Azaleas, but it was perfect for the Milky Way! This is a very dark place with only the forest (and its creatures) surrounding you at night - quite an experience to shoot from here!

Taken with Sony A7III and the 14mm f1.8 GM lens. We used the Move Shoot Move star tracker, tracking the sky at half speed. The lens was fully open, the exposure time was 30s, ISO 1600. Made a number of shots (also with different framing and ISO settings) but just kept this single image, which also has a falling star.
